YouTube recently unveiled some fresh features for its Paid subscribers. However, these features are not currently available on all platforms at the same time, which may come as a surprise.
One of the new features highlighted on YouTube’s official blog is improved video quality at 1080p resolution. While Android is Google’s own operating system, this feature did not debut on Android first, contrary to expectations.
YouTube has recently introduced higher quality 1080p videos; This feature is not yet available on Android devices.
YouTube has added a new video quality option called “1080p Premium,” which includes an “Enhanced Bitrate” to provide clearer and crisper videos, especially in videos with high motion and detail. This option is available alongside the standard 1080p video quality option, but currently, it is only accessible through YouTube’s iOS and iPadOS apps.
While Google has announced that the 1080p Premium option is coming to the web, there is no official announced its availability for Android devices.
As of now, there is no specific announcement on when the 1080p Premium quality videos will be available on Android. However, Google has confirmed that this feature will be coming soon to the web. This update could significantly enhance the video quality on Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets, among others, but there is currently no official information about when this feature will be available on those devices or not.
In addition to the 1080p Premium video quality option, Google also highlighted some other features for YouTube Premium subscribers, such as the ability to queue videos, resume videos from where they were left off, and Smart Downloads. However, these features are not new and have been available for some time. If you were eagerly anticipating the higher quality 1080p video streams, you may have to wait a little longer for it to become available on Android or use the 4K resolution option instead.
