AMD recently introduced its newest entry-level graphics card, the RX 7600, joining the lineup alongside the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX. While the RX 7600 shares the same RDNA 3 architecture as its counterparts, it offers a more affordable price point of $269 compared to the outgoing RX 6600. According to AMD, this new GPU is designed to deliver a smooth gaming experience, comfortably handling the majority of games at 1080p resolution and a minimum of 60 frames per second, with many popular titles exceeding that threshold.

The RX 7600 boasts 8GB of GDDR6 memory with a memory throughput of 18Gbps. AMD claims that 8GB is the optimal capacity for 1080p gaming, citing that 65 percent of gamers choose this resolution. In comparison to the RX 6600, AMD claims an average of 29 percent better graphics performance. The manufacturer is hoping that the RX 7600 will address some of the issues encountered with its predecessor, such as lackluster ray tracing and limited upscaling capabilities. The pricing of the RX 6600 was also affected by the challenges posed by component shortages during its release cycle.

The RX 7600 is also not constrained to 1080p resolution. With the help of AMD Fidelity FX Super quality, the company claims that customers can play 260 games in a higher 1440p quality. It is important to keep in mind that when playing some games at higher resolutions, the frame rate may dip below 60 fps.

Additionally, the RX 7600 offers advantages for streamers. AMD highlights that the card supports hardware-level encoding of the AV1 video codec.
