According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on an update that will allow users to create stickers directly within the app. The feature is currently in development and not yet available to beta testers.
The update will enable users to quickly create stickers from their own images. It utilizes iOS 16 APIs to extract topics from images and automatically turns them into stickers within the app.
The tool of sticker creation will be accessible through the chat share action sheet. Users can select a photo from their gallery and WhatsApp will provide editing tools, including the ability to remove the background.
This functionality eliminates the need for users to download third-party apps for sticker creation, providing a more natural experience within WhatsApp.
The sticker tool will be available on WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web.iOS users can expect additional tools once the feature becomes accessible to them.
